<p>During the first two months of the fall 2012 semester alone, <a href="http://www.blackboard.com/Platforms/Mobile/Products/Mobile-Learn.aspx" target="_blank"><em>Blackboard Mobile™ Learn</em></a> was downloaded an average of 7,000 times per day with students logging in over 70 million times. <a href="http://www.blackboard.com/Platforms/Mobile/Products/Mobile-Central.aspx" target="_blank"><em>Blackboard Mobile™ Central</em></a> helped students, alumni and others keep track of the college football season and other news with over 10 million user checks of game scores, articles and schedules.</p>

AppAdvice has been a top-20 news app in Apple&#8217;s App Store for two years running, and they chose Cloudant to store their online catalog of more than 700,000 iOS app reviews because of its ability to meet the scalability requirements for their heavily used service.</p>
<p>More than 400,000 online and mobile visitors use AppAdvice every day to help discover interesting and new iOS apps to use. It helps novice and experienced smart device owners find relevant new apps and reviews by personalizing content based on hobbies, industry verticals, and other relevant themes.</p>
<p>Early on, AppAdvice knew that relational SQL databases would not be a good fit for the variably structured data in their app catalog, so they followed the NoSQL path with <a href="http://couchdb.cloudant.com/cloudant-technical-overview/" target="_blank">Apache CouchDB</a>-based Cloudant. 				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In-stream and digital video advertising momentum rolled forward 52.1% in 2012 to $7.6 billion, capping off a nine-year CAGR run of 62.5%, with more growth ahead, concludes an inventory and spend report by <strong>AccuStream Research</strong>.</p>
<p>The report, <strong><em>In-Stream and</em></strong> <strong><em>Digital Video Advertising: 2012 &#8211; 2015</em></strong> presents a systematic, data-driven study of this flourishing market sector by format and platform.</p>
<p>The ecosystem&#8217;s twin pillars, in-stream and in-page formats, own a combined 86.7% share of the sold market. Third-party video ad networks cleared a 21.4% piece of the $2.5 billion in-stream total.</p>
<p>Research data explains notable adjustments being made to available in-stream inventory (pre/mid/post-roll), and corresponding media spend specifically, by site, network, channel and service.</p>
<p>Expansion of mid/post-roll inventory supporting premium broadcast network properties, cable channel sites, allocated inside Hulu and YouTube (the latter seen across all themed and partner channel content) has been pronounced.</p>
<p>As a result, in-stream insertion frequencies have increased over the past year, and now stand at 1-to-1.04 (or 1-to-2.72 when including YouTube), up from 1-to-1.6 in 2011.</p>
<p>A detailed data portrait of YouTube&#8217;s monetization strategies over the past three years examines insertion frequencies across themed content and partner channels, deployment of TrueView inventory, including the mobile platform, and likewise enthusiast content areas where ad skip technology is less prominent or absent.</p>
<p>In-page impressions continue to pace the market, capturing 53.5% of total video spend in 2012. However, emerging platforms and environments (mobile, social and OTT/VOD billings) are forecast to generate 23.4% share by 2015, up from 10.3% today.</p>
<p>Mobile/tablet in-stream video advertising is surging, advancing 235% in 2012, with inventory cleared directly, and also effectively though mobile ad networks.</p>
<p>YouTube, its brand marketer and agency partners, in particular, have teamed to deliver a sophisticated mobile app and in-stream advertising opportunity.</p>
<p>Inventory formats (in-stream, in-page, overlay), growth rates, sellout, pricing (CPM, CPC, CPV, CPCV) and platform related spend (online, mobile, social, OTT/VOD) is included in this report. Overlay placements more than doubled in 2012 to 189 billion impressions.</p>

These new partnerships follow closely behind Stream TV&#8217;s recent announcement that named Pegatron® Corporation as a manufacturer of the Ultra-D devices.</p>
<p>Stream TV&#8217;s relationships with Konka and BOE are indicative of the company&#8217;s global growth strategy, which prioritize China given its status as the largest consumer market for 3D media. Both Konka and BOE rank among the top 10 technology companies in China, where Konka is considered a tier one consumer electronics brand and BOE is a leader in the display industry. Together, they will give Ultra-D massive presence in retail across China.</p>
<p>&#8220;Their retail firepower will enable Ultra-D television sets to reach most parts of mainland China,&#8221; says Mathu Rajan, CEO of Stream TV Networks. &#8220;More than 38% of the TVs sold in China this year have been 3DTVs, and the introduction of a world-class autostereoscopic technology like Ultra-D is expected to further that trend.&#8221;</p>

As an extension of Ticketmaster.com, the app allows users to log into their MyTicketmaster account for a seamless purchasing experience on their iPhone.</p>

<p>The Ticketmaster app for iPhone scans users&#8217; iTunes music library to understand music preferences and users can choose to have the iPhone&#8217;s built-in location services activated to automatically recommend relevant upcoming local events. Fans can further personalize the recommended shows by using more than 40 preset filters.</p>
<p>The app also offers deep social media connections, allowing fans to easily Tweet and Facebook® during the discovery phase, after purchasing tickets and check in on Foursquare during the event, helping to extend the fun and excitement of the event beyond the event itself.</p>
